I am so glad you are here! Finding a therapist that is the right fit can be a challenge and sometimes even scary. Let me share a little bit about myself to try and help you discover if we might work well together.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Alabama and in Georgia and a Nationally Certified Counselor through NBCC. I received my B.S. in Psychology from Troy University, my Master's of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Auburn University of Montgomery, and a post-graduate certificate in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Counseling from Troy University. I am a Certified AutPlay Provider, a Registered Play Therapist, and a TAC (Training for Adoption Competency) graduate.
I view myself as a client-centered counselor and I tailor sessions to fit each individual client based on their needs and goals for therapy. I work with children age 3 and up, their families, adolescents, and adults. I utilize Adlerian Play Therapy with children in session, as play is a way for them to communicate and express themselves.
It is my firm belief, that clients deserve to be seen and heard by a caring therapist and I strive to create a safe space for all clients. It can be difficult to open up to someone about life's struggles and challenges, and it is my privilege to walk alongside my clients during that journey.
